The Gallipolis Fire Chief is an appointed position with the City of Gallipolis.
When the position of fire chief becomes vacant within the City of Gallipolis, a selection process is begun by the Gallipolis City Manager. Upon the City Manager’s selection of a final candidate, the Manager then forwards his recommendation for appointment to the Gallipolis City Commission. The City Commission, by majority vote, accepts and appoints the recommended candidate.
The current fire chief, Keith A. Elliott, began his tenure with the Gallipolis Fire Department in 1977 as a Volunteer Firefighter. He has served as Fire Chief since March 10, 2012.
