The Gallipolis Fire Department is responsible for the protection of 14,000 people who live in approximately 70 square miles in beautiful southern Ohio. This includes the City of Gallipolis, Addison, Gallipolis, and Green Townships. The city is bordered by the Ohio River and is passed through by US 35 from Charleston, West Virginia to Dayton, Ohio.

Our department operates two stations with 30 volunteers specializing in fire suppression, limited search and rescue operations, hazards material response, and water rescues.

These responses included all fires (structure, vehicle, trash, brush, dumpster, electrical and outdoor), auto accidents, rescues, special assignments, bomb threats, hazardous materials incidents, and mutual aid calls.
